here are a few blennies with a story to tell.
years ago, I've caught these blennies in Hong kong and they were very aggressive, green in coloration, lived well in both salt and freshwater, since then I've gone back, and there are bridges over the river/ocean where I use to catch them at. Those specie later studied were omobranchus faciolaticeps, with a high hat!
Recent years I've had a few opportunities to get a few specimens from India, which were only accesible via a natural reserve land, so very difficult to access. However these reminded me very much of the ones I use to catch, after further studying, these appeared to be omobranchus zebra, a very inquisitive specie. Last year, I was down to one specimen, I was moving it from one tank to another, and picked him up with my hand, he didn't move out of the way at all, and when I picked him up, he looked at me and bit me on the finger and drew blood! you know how most fish will squirm or flop while out of water or being caught, this guy just looked at me and was like, " you want more?"
This recent import, has brought me even more, I got 2 other species of blennies that are in freshwater, these are very active not like the previous ones I've gotten from Vietnam, which do not move at all, these swim about constantly once its use to the surrounding, and will chase food down and come to the top, and much hardier. So far we've had omobranchus ferox, zebra, and one or two more in my tank, waiting for them to settle down and I'll get some nice shots of them! We're exclusive on these fish and definitely one of my favorites!
