I have a 180 Allglass, a 125 Oceanic, and a 100 DeHaan, all purchased in late 70's. All started out as salt water tanks, then switched to freshwater early 90's, then moved across state, and have been set up freshwater for the last 15 years. You need good solid stands that support the tank evenly, and level. Over the last 40+ years I've had just about every size and shape tank available under 200 gallons. Hexagons, highs, breeders, bowed, longs, etc........ I've never had a leak. Of course I just jinxed myself.
