Amongst the Catfish & Plecos
I have a small collection of old, broken stuff such as heaters, filters, and broken aquariums. This stuff should be able to be recycled rather than to just add to a landfill, but I am struggling trying to find someone who takes stuff like this, especially the heaters. Does anyone know who takes this stuff and actually recycles it?

Im glad this concerns you too
i recycle old/broken aquariums from my neigborhood and when i spot one thrown away i like using what i can of them to make usable aquariums
and if you got these aquariums i would take them
:headbang2rock on lluv dat u care:headbang2

I just bust up the aquariums and anything plastic and add it to the recycle bin. My "guys" always take it. Including kids toys etc. You should be able to do the same

im new to the fish keeping hobby i need more aquariums soo i take old ones and make them to useable aquariums

I've got a collection of marineland heaters that have fully shocked me, leak current, blistered, have run away thermostats, etc. along with other old junk. And yeah, it bothers me to just chuck it into the trash. I try to recylce everything I can. :)

Hmmm... I could probably do that to a bunch of the stuff and once seperated, they might actually recycle it. I'll give this a try.

Post it in the free section on CL. You will have a dozen replies by the morning.

The stuff I need to chuck is dangerous. A lot of it is not fixable, and what is would probably take someone with serious skill. I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable sending this stuff off to potentially hurt someone.
