I have got hold of some red garnet sand, looks dark red out when it's dry, then placed it into the tank and looked more towards orange colour. Does lighting make a difference??? I seem some on here which look great but this doesn't look exactly like that.

Excuse the misty tank, i didn't spend long washing the sand!

It looks great and similar to some of the OG mfk'ers tank. If they were available here. I'd switch mine out entirely.

Can we get a close up in the front panel with lights on?

Got another 50kg to add! If I change the lighting and it looks a bit more red then maybe il get another 25kg to add depth!

The lighting I have is 4x TMC Aquaray daylight tiles which are incredibly bright.

If lighting makes a difference i will get just 2 small tubes so polys can enjoy a dim tank

It does look a bit orange from your photos. But it could really be the lighting. It'll color up your bichirs just fine.

I've have used something similar before but different color. It was horrible. it started to leak into my water after a month. Probably back in 2008/2009 when I had this sand with them OG plant paper backgrounds! :D
