Red Garnet Sand

any recommendations on grit? There are a lot of titles that contain "abrasive and sand blasting." Are these fish safe? A lot of these kinda look brown to me. Will the light make them that nice orange/
red color? I need an adult. hahaha.

Just added another 25kg of red garnet and tested out a 3 different bulbs. Still not achieved the look i want!

Hao, as you said different colour bulbs definitely gives the sand a different colour!

Last pic is the original setup 4x TMC Aquaray Tiles.

I think it's been approx 6 days now since I put in red garnet sand. The lap has really coloured up, my ansorgii has only coloured up a tiny bit. How long does it normally take? Or is it when the fish settles in like a month or two?

Its nicer than the orange one, now looks more garnet red. It shouldnt take long for the polys to settle in, maybe a week or less.

From my experience, AnsorgiixEndli hybrids don't really color up too much even on red sand(Just small ones do but once they get bigger, they lose their boldness in pattern).

Vancouver_98683 mentioned before that not all ansorgii have bright patterns, it depends on their catch location. Mine , DMD123 and Hao are caught in the same region compared to Vancouver's ansorgii,yours might be the same as his.

The thing is it's not a WC ansorgii.
