I just got this Catfish....or pleco, it's currently around 2.5 inches. Any thoughts or advice? It's in with some rosy barbs and blind cave tetras, would these tank mates work or should I separate them?

I suggest you get pleco wafers or catfish pellets if you don't have any.
Also keep your eyes on the blind cave tetra .

The fish'll be fine with tetras and the rosy barbs, so long as food is accessible (and it's large enough to not get eaten). Not very picky, them things. A rather nice smaller loricariid that does rather well in most community settings. Seem to prefer warmer temperatures, which may be a slight problem, but isn't anything major. Have bred them using 1" ceramic tubes in room-temp water without much attention to water params, but did not have very good fry survival rates.

Temperature is 24-29°c, I live near the equator so temp is not a prob. I definitely have to buy pleco wafers, right now i only have sinking pellets and algae on driftwood.

I have fond memories of mine. It was in an interesting 4ft aquarium with moderate flow, sand and lots of driftwood festooned with Java Fern. Tankmates included African Dwarf Frogs, Corydoras, Glass Catfish, Dwarf Hoplo Catfish, Pitbull Plecos, Neon Tetras and other benign small fish. 75F. It could be quite active searching for food and seemed to eat anything though I never saw it eat algae or vegetables in my case. It never harmed other fish or frogs. It was attacked by a Bristlenose which was removed to another tank. It lived exactly six years with me.

I found my pics! That tank, which I don't have now due to a change in circumstances, was my most interesting tank. I could watch it for hours. It was also a very healthy tank. Many fish lived a long time e.g. Glass Catfish and Hillstream Loach over ten years.
Thanks for sharing! Judging from the bristles on the fish, that might be a male. Interesting tank stock choices and I really like that frog!
