How do you get a red texas ? i keep hearing different things ? The only thing thats everybody agreed upon is a male green texas . But the female i heard is a king blood parrot , or a midas, red devil , flowerhorn , does anyone know me .

I wouldnt believe things peaple say unless they have done it themselves because everything else is just theresay so get a green texas and a nice midas/red devil/parrot female and do it pic the babies that look closest to red texas and breed them wiht each other would be my geuss good luck

Trial and error spawning and longterm growouts in a huge facilaty with about a decade of dedication and i am sure u can unlock the red texas secrets as those indonesian folks have done but i don't think u will get them to spill the beans here but lots of luck dude.

This is my first post. I'm trying to get my first 5 so i can become a full MFK Member. Here is my new "Red Texas Cichlid" so i was told. If you have any input on it let me know what you think. You could see a little hint of red. He is about 2.5 in. long. Enjoy!

A breeder told me to mix a KKP with a Texas, out of the batch you should get some reasonable ones while some are just butt ugly.

Linebreeding. Carpintis x midas or blood parrot. From that generation you keep the best faded female and breed it to a different carpintis. With that spawn you pick the best female and breed it to another carpintis. Keep up this process until you find something you like and if you can find a fertile faded male (probably not going to happen) then breed that for your best chance of red.

Or you could just buy some amazing fry from cj barth who is a member on here.
