Nice job man. I have almost the same exact "before" tank in my basement (bought for a great deal) My plan is to build a high sitting stand that can also support a 30 gallon tank inside.

Yeah i got this one for a good deal, I seen the potential in it.

did you paint or replace the frame on the tank?

Just paint. I think it came out well.

Can you explain how you did this? I am getting a 110 gallon with stained wood stand and trim and i would like to know how you did this to follow your steps. Did you sand at all or just paint over? Thanks

looks great. you just need to put some blinds on that window/sliding door to stop the glare and sun..

I have the same in my basement (big walkout glass sliding door) and I put vertical blinds that can be moved back and fourth when I want to go outside, and it works well and looks great.

Yeah i am getting some. During the summer i have a large tree in from of the door so no light gets in but now all the leaves are gone so im going to have to invest in some.

I sanded certain sections just to even out everything. I used Rust Oleum Semi gloss latex paint. A few coats of this should be find. The first coat looks like crap but 2 more coats should be fine. I painted my nephew's stand for him and i used primer on his so his has a bit more shine to it.

Damn I should have done that years ago! It looks great. Did you get the wet/dry working ok? All that filtration on that tank you should be able to drink that water
