That is perfectly fine of them to do. We do our research and are aware of what every fish we have needs. This hybrid and our past redtail are the only ones that gave us problems like this. I hope he eats when he gets comfy in his new home. ?

Okay he has not gone to the bottom of the tank. Is it bad for him to sit at the surface? There is a bit of current but he should’ve been fine to get to the bottom
yes I have a fake rock cave in the bottom that he can go in. I have turned the light off too
Sounds good. Consider hanging towels on the front and sides of the tank to limit his line of sight. I've had this work for me in calming new fish to larger tanks.
