Rescue help for channel catfish

I need help in finding someone who would take my two channel catfish who are now grown to over 12" . Reason I like to find a Better dwelling for them then the 125 gallon their in now . I have them over two years since they were just small little pups . Very healthy eat well . When the blue light is on they come out from their cave type shelters to swim around and just chill

But in all honesty is it ok if no one wants them. For me to just leave them. TU

I live in New York and my catfish would never survive in these cold water reservoirs up north here too frigid after the warm season is over . I wish I can give away my catfish their reaching after two years in my 125 they've grown to over 12" at this time and I like to find someplace where I can place these Catfish in another much larger aquarium . Someone know who can accommodate two 12" channel catfish in a appropriate aquarium size .my tank is 125 gallon 6 feet long 18" wide need more for them soon will get too big probably . One of the two Catfish is definitely just over 12" I have two since they were babies .

Channel catfish live in the wild all over NY state and up into Canada, as Deadliestviper had said. So your first statement is not true.

But indeed, releasing a native fish back into the wild from a fish tank is a bad practice as the fish might carry foreign pathogens.

If you live in western NY / upstate NY, you might be able to drive your fish to Ohio Fish Rescue, if you wished to.

Also, if you wish, you can create a thread in the Marketplace forum here on MFK and look for a new home for your pets that way, as well as utilizing Craigslist too.

You can aso humanely euthanize them if all fails.

See if you can find someone with a large koi pond who will take them, also see if you have a cabelas or bass pro shops near you who will accept them.
