In 2009, I bought two 15" nigers at $150 each from Aquarium and Puppy Center in Waterbury, CT.
It depends on the seller, location, rarity, etc. I imagine that $50 would be a great luck. If juvies in your area are priced at $75, which is high, $150 for a 15" may not be unreasonable. The fish though is a true tank buster that very few can house properly.

I jist got 2x 3-4" at $20 each. I have seen them in the past at 4-6" for $40. I got a 12" fish for $50 I think. It was killed at 15" from pesticide. The 12" was the largest locally I have seen. I honestly think alot never make it to more then 12" around here. Locally I have only seem them at 1 store and they seem to order 1-2 times a year but typically always have some. They don't seem as popular as I think they should be.
