A bgk would get eaten by his giant bichirs when it's hiding during the day ,unless he finds a massive one with decent girth on it.+1 grow a knifefish in a pond like Rod from preadatory fins has and change 30% water alternate days like duanes does . I bet you'll have a 3 footer in maybe 4-5 yrs.
Whatever it be a clown knife won't be happy in a 6ft tank long term.
I'd consider getting a black ghost knife or maybe a afer knife fir a 6ft .
I myself am very tempted to keep a clown knife as they are readily available at stores plus you even get live 16-18" Specimens being sold for food at the live fish market. But I don't get them and probably won't be able to get them ever because I would never go bigger than a 6*2*2 as I live in an apartment.
Consider clown/ Royal knifes as a pacu and a black ghost as a widebar Silver dollar if you compare the sizes ?
They do not grow to 24 inches. They get MUCH bigger. My biggest was confirmed 34 inches when he passed and was purchased back in 1999 by a family friend

He was already 3 to 4 years old when he was purchased in 1999. So he was 24 or 25 when he passed away. How long did it live?
MAY WORK but I'm more concerned about small tetras and mollies . Why not get a mid sized cichlid as the centrepiece ?Then anyone got any unique centrepiece fish for my 55g? Is there really no chance for a ropefish? Is there a possibility it could work
I have no clue what type of cichlid it is. I’ve just been told it’s a yellow peacock cichlid if I’m not wrong. I would call it a centre piece, I would like a unique fish that really stands out.MAY WORK but I'm more concerned about small tetras and mollies . Why not get a mid sized cichlid as the centrepiece ?
But I do already see a cichlid. An African one . Is it a yellow lab ?
