It's possible they are a mix. I'd agree the stress bars don't look correct for 'rotkeil'. Had a group of 4 males, they began to show red in the shoulders at 3-4" like others have stated.

They were beautiful man. But I sold them. Bought a group of 4.... got all 4 males. All were jerks and didn't like tankmates even in a 150 gallon lol

Good ol cichlids lol enough tank is never enough tank

That one looks great. Not sure why mine even a little bigger than that shows little to no red? Would be surprised if a Rotkeil from Rapps wasn't legit

Give it some time, I'm sure they each grow into their own. I had beautiful notatus Severums from rapps and they were amazing. I had a female rotkeil same size as this one and was barely showing color as well

My males colored up fairly quickly the females have more color in the fins. I'm at work so I can not post photos but if you have instagram you can check them out at HipHopOldHead
