Royal Galaxy p14

Just wondering what they would look like if kept on a sand base from pups to adults. I seen some more of these rays on arofanatics today and they too are in a white tank. I just wanted to ask the question as white tank treatment has been around for a long time for various color changes and one being to bring out more white spots on a black ray. What would happen to a royal galaxy ray if it was never kept in a white tank? Would they have less spots but still more then a galaxy P-14 and could it also effect the size of the spots if not kept in a white tank?

Time will tell I guess as eventually someone will keep these types of rays from pups to adults in a sand tank.

Also if you want I can get new owner to out them in black to send ya pics :).

So he too is keeping them in a white tank? I wasn't talking about just seeing what they look like on regular substrate but the long term effects on the looks of a Royal galaxy stingray if kept on a regular substrate of black, gravel or sand, etc.

Sorta like a 24k full helmet gold head arowana. I have read there is no guarantee that it will stay the same unless you keep it in a white tank with proper lighting.

P13 p14 Rays don't change in white tanks. If anything white tanks will make or break ur ray. All p14 p13 look good in black tanks but in a white tank spots look shrunk and yellow spots stand out more. While black tanks makes white pop out. Wwt does not exist for p13 p14. It's not a arowana.

Doesn't really make sense. You say rays don't change in white tanks but white tanks will make or break a ray? Then you say a white tank makes spots look smaller and pronounces the yellow spots more? So you are saying white tanks are bad for rays. If that's the case then you better paint the bottoms of all your ponds. :woot:

I will just start a thread and hopefully people will discuss the matter.

What my post means is white tanks u can't mask yellow spots on white surface u have compare with. White tanks also make spots look more shrunk, if the ray has big spot on white it has big spots. In black the white pops out more and spots look whiter on a black surface. Y mine are all white u ask trev is because I can really see the quality of the ray. Black rays will always look better on black.

I Beleive they would still have their big spots. I have notice no differance from the normal p14 in white or black besides the base color being darker in black. I think the new owner actualy has them in sand I'll try and get some updates soon.

The end means is if I desired to buy such rays I wouldn't want them to look bad down the road because I kept them in a sand tank for their entire life.
