Royal Galaxy P14

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
from what i have seen the more generations deep they get the better the spotting gets.. so
f2> should get more spots.

No doubt, the real question is if i see a pup with amazing jammed pack spotting, when that pup grows up will it maintain that same look? Im gettin a female that will be easily 24"+ big when full grown. Will a 2' P14 still be able to maintain that jammed pack spotting look? Or will it be more spread out?

Well thats up in the stars. Every ray is different. You cant predict how they will look when theyre completely grown. I have seen some amazing high end pups becoming "average" and some "ugly" pups that no one wanted to buy turn out three times as good as the "high end" pups from the same batch.

Hard to tell. However, if you get a Galaxy P14 from super high end parents, you should be fine.

My pair. I agree with keepinfish keepinfish the personality is very different than other rays. Very fun to keep. I will say they were more stubborn to get onto certain foods but once you do they are pretty epic. Mine female is insane!

Thats a gorgeous ray. My concern with P14's is that there is little gaps between the spots and so the spots are jammed pack together which I love. But I've seen adult P14s with large gaps in between the spots. Is there anyway to guaranteed that a P14 pup will maintain the jammed packed spots look instead of large gaps between the spots?

It's all about quality with the spotting. The spots spread some with growth but lower quality have far less spots. If You can see the parents is the only way with buying pups. They take almost a year to "break" and look anything like their adult patterns.
My male is a freight train nothing bothers him and eats anything. My female is very skittish. Slow grower. Picky eater. Doesn't like too much commotion and other rays swimming over her. If she's stressed she stops eating. I'm constantly dividing to give her breaks as she stresses really easily. Fussiest ray I've had.

Overall they can keep up with p12 and p13. They do have a bit thinner disc and more buggy eyes. They also seem to have a slightly smaller mouth compared to my BDs and hybrids the same size.

Im thinkin of pickin up a female P14, r they just as hardy as BDs? I have a pair BDs, n wanna add a female P14. Thoughts, comments, & concerns?

Have no experience with breeding stingrays. But from my knowledge of livestock reproduction, does anyone think that this may lead to a difficult birth? As P14 are a smaller species, i would think it will be safe for a male P14 to breed with a female BD, but not the other way around? Anyone has any experiences with dystocia in stingrays?
