I have a 75 with a 7” blood parrot, 1 5” RS Severum, 1 3” RS Severum, 2 small polar blue parrots and some corys with some giant danios as dithers. Yes tank is probably fully stocked but it was mainly a grow out for the Sevs for now. Blood parrots tube is down and is guarding a ton of eggs on a rock so i assume it spawned with one of the Sevs? Any chance of the eggs making it?

Do you see the sev with it? Convict would be a more likely option.
The eggs are most likely infertile, parrot just naturally laid eggs without a male like many other female cichlids would.

Convicts have stayed on other side of tank but one of the sevs is staying above the rock with the eggs but the BP isnt letting anyone near

Sev would be the father then. Eggs won’t hatch in that case, CA cichlids cannot ever successfully hybridize with SAs.

That is pretty interesting. Like Deadeye said, polar blue parrots, which are short body Honduran red point convicts, would be able to breed successfully with a parrot and a severum likely not. However, there are exceptions to the "never SA and CA " rule, and on this board I have seen a successful green terror x convict cross and a red Ceibal x convict cross, both of which would seem impossible.

A number of people have tried to make this cross or kept these fish together and had them spawn, but I have never heard of a successful spawn. Please keep us posted. It would be a very interesting hybrid if the eggs were fertilized.

One last thing, you have a better chance of success with the parrot female and severum male because male parrots are almost always infertile.

One about the gt doesn’t load, but those have to be beautiful. Ceibal convict is awesome too!

I will update, as for now the BP is still guarding the eggs so we'll see. Im pretty certain the polar blues are not involved they haven't come close to that side of the tank but the one severum is still hovering above

Based on behavior that sounds like the sev is the father.
It may be possible for the severum to successfully breed, considering the parrots muddy genealogy. It is accepted that they are Midas x Redhead but considering how many people think sev is in there, who knows, maybe there is.

I re-copied the green terror x convict link, but if it still doesn't load, you can look up the thread "death row convicts". People kept harrassing the OP about it being impossible and she was fabricating it, and I don't think she's been back on the site.
