RWalleyTX Eheim 2262 setup/review THE BIG ONE

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes I did get the Poret foam. I haven't received it yet but I did get (2) 2" 20ppi sheets. I felt 20 was the perfect number as I want to keep it fairly maintenance free. I'm hoping I could go 6 months without messing with it.

Definitely the best can out there had both the 2262 and the fx6. Fx6 doesnt come close to comparisson. congrats

Thanks! What size drill did you use? It looks to be about a 1/8 hole already.

One mod that another memeber suggested was drilling the holes on the spray bar slightly larger. I had mine on a 150 gal by itself and was great. I put my return and intake in the same side of the tank. Flow was so strong that it would push water down the far wall and across the bottom so that all debris that the intake did pick up would settle in one place which was under the spray bar/intake.

Also not sure if your if your doing stricly bio media but most use poret foam from swiss tropicals for mech...best stuff out there.

Just got the poret filters in today. Should I cut them 12" or slightly smaller?

use the green discs that sit in the filter as a guide

The green screen is smaller than the opening..is it better to sit in the bucket with .25 inch all around or better to be the full opening at 12 inches?

I cut my Poret larger than the lattice screen so it fits snugly in the canister filter with no gaps around the edges.

WOW, I'm impressed with the cuts, I had to go back and see how you did it and noticed you said laser cut.

Save any of the leftover material as it can be used in other filters or for DIY projects needing a bit of material. You can even add the material in the bag with your bio-media.

Ordered more tubing should see it at the end of the week I will also install the Poret pads and the neoprine foam I also cut out to dampen the pump.
