gymnothorax polyuranodon is completely freshwater, would a jardini/black arowana fit? they usually are smaller than a full size silver

Rpul Rpul used to own a sailfin over 34” so I would have concerns with whiskers as well with an 8x3 as final home for that fish with other occupants. That said, it will take many years to get to that size. Other options are possible, including some of the hemibagrus, doradids, giraffe cats, etc.
Believe that black arrowana have capacity to reach the same size as silvers so again a no. A giant gourami is a good choice for an 8x3 but would probably need to grow up with the eels. Large barbs could be an option.

You couldn't fit an arowana long term. Pbass I don't know about....others can chime in on that. Tiger eels won't work because they are brackish (assuming the catfish you want is freshwater).
Freshwater Tiger Moray eel is actually fully freshwater species. Much research has been done that some have lived their entire lives in freshwater even though most will move to brackish and saltwater when they get larger. I don’t see a problem with a few tiger moray eels in the 240g. While they can get pretty big 3ft. Pretty flexible and dont move around a lot. Don’t know much about the Sailfin Pim so hopefully others chime in with that!

i reside in CA, US apolgizes for the mistype, the tank is 8x2x2
