Sailfin Pleco name confusion

hello, i am wondering what the difference and the common names for these sailfin plecos are, thanks!

Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps

Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps

and are leopard sailfin and spotted sailfin the same? websites that i go to sometimes list
Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps and Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps as the same thing so i am confused,

I believe these are the same. Glyptoperichths probably used to be the old genus name, but taxonomists being taxonomists, they had to revise the genus.

Actually Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps is the new (Scientific) name for a sailfin(nickname), but hobbyists refuse to change from the original ( Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps). So in most cases both are still used.

The others: Sailfin, hi-fin, leopard sailfin, spotted sailfin are all nicknames.

Note: Spotted hi-fin sometimes refers to a L001 ( Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus ), which is not a sailfin and mostly have wavy lines, usually the spots are only when they are young.
