The article I have read regarding the use of Aquarium salt is to be found at "****************". This is quite a detailed article explaining the use of salt. Good bit of reading. My supplier has also suggested I add 3-4 teaspoons of Aquarium salt to my water. This done I then used an SG meter to record the level. I then try and maintain this aby adding some salt when doing a water change.
:naughty: :woot: :clap :headbang2

For tankbred Vics, Malawi and most Tangs, unless your water is 7.4 or lower and your gh/kh are very low you don't need any buffers at all. The fish can acclimate, breed and raise beautiful and healthy offspring and live out the extent of their lives without any pH or hardness related problems.
Over all, a stable pH that's a little lower than the actual lake it's from is far better than the pH constantly fluctuating.
