senegal minimum tank size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Went to another forum website and they said that a senegal will need a 90 gallon tank to itself last time I went their.

90 is much much more then 1 senegal would need to itself. u probably got it off of liveaquaria.com where it does say that, but a 29 gallon tank is the minimum.

Actually a 90 gallon is a waste of money a 75 gallon has the same footprint just not as much height and would be cheaper too.Bichirs need length and width depth is not important smaller species do just fine in water depth of 12 inches-Anne

I found it off the forum site of oscarfish.com

how big are their mouths? and the things in my tank I'm worried about are a 3" gourami, a 3" cory which might be moving anyway, a 4.5" or 5" porthole catfish, and a 4" bamboo shrimp. I also have a 6-7" peacock eel but it wouldn't be a problem, as I see it about once every 3-4 weeks since it's always in the substrate.

preditory thay will eat all fish that will fit in there mouths slow ones will be eaton during the day fast ones go at night bot prety much ignor fish to big to eat
gourami will be fine for a long time as it will grow some hopefully the cory could cause trouble if it tries to eat it and it gets stuck there both goners the shrimp will be food eventually i forget do bamboo shrimp molt there shell and get soft if so it might go pretty quick but everything else would be okay

Bamboo shrimp do moly their shells, but very rarely. The only time so far that it happened, I've had him for about 2 months, he hid in a plany until he wasn't soft.

oops, meant to say "plant" instead of "plany" on the post before this one and it won't let me edit for some reason.
