Sexing Electric Blue Jack Dempsey

So just like that no answer you just say that it’s a he??? I just found out that I have a common/EBJD and that the spangles early on men male not female I am completely confused as I see all round looking fins yet now besides that tail fin are pointing as if they grew from round to a point and I am so confused as she had a name and I was not prepared to call her a he so now I’m seriously upset and confused

It’s not an EBJD. Not sure who told you that. I believe I answered your question in depth on the Jack Dempsey Enthusiasts Facebook group. I also still believe this is a female. If you look close you can see blue bearding on the lower jaw that you won’t usually see on a male. Right now it’s hard to say entirely. Needs to mature some but I’m thinking female. I wouldn’t jump to a conclusion on gender though. Needs a bit more time.

Well I am just not going to chase a gender with this fish I will just saying him or Buddy to refer to my fish because gender isn’t everything when you plan on keeping this type fish solo in a 75 gallon. But thank you for the input

I never said it was a EBJD
I said it was a baby from 1 common parent and 1 EBJD parent that’s not a EBJD that’s a common with a EBJD gene
