Short Body Oscar

Non line bred sb in a batch of normals is rare imo. However out of all the sb fish ive seen appear in normal batches its osars ive seen the most for whatever reason. By most i mean 3-4 times a year. Im starting to think this little guy is sb. What ya think op?

In most pure species sb fish the trait is recessive, as opposed to parrot's and their hybrids were it (mostly, with hybrids the rules of genetics seem to bend) is a dominant gene.

Not sure if sb is recessive or a mutation. If it is recessive, then sb fish should be very easy to reproduce once one or two are identified out of a spawn, for a lot of the fish in that spawn will be carriers of the recessive gene.

Mine did, and I have heard anectodal stories from other forum members stating the same. Same with the recessive part, mine were and other forum members have said theirs were too.

I'm thinking it's a male because it's always fanning my regular "for sure" female.

Oh hes so cuuuuuute! Ive been wanting to find one but theyre sometimes hard to distinguish at a small size if it isn't really obvious
