Yea, I realize your 3-year old has been stuck at 20". Not too surprising. Ornamental fish trade gets culls from the aquaculture, runts, dinks, underperformers, deformed fish, etc.
I am sure the benchmark for these food fishes is to reach 1.5' marketable size in under a year as with most other food catfishes - channels, IDS, paroon sharks, Clarias, TSNxRTC, etc.
Every case is unique and I was speaking of some average perceived by me (and
