just put my female F1 down , raised from egg from her WC parents. her brother from same clutch broke through the divider and skinned her. On a up note he has the 145 to himself and promises to be a very large male.

just sized her she little less than a year old and over 10" bummer to lose. her brother about 2" bigger. again less than a year old. this the good side, other side skinned much worse.

My male GT had it MUCH worse than that - 50% of all scales lost on both sides and he STILL came back. That's why I don't euthanize unless all hope is lost. Fish and their slime coat are RESILIENT when it comes to healing. The GT show NO signs of trauma and it's only been a few weeks since I moved the RTM that did it to him.

I'm sorry for your loss, pops but I wouldn't have done it if the fish still looked that healthy. She could have made it, I promise

justarn justarn love the blues man, he's a Nic?
Not sure, people have said cr but he is just a LFS fish, they came in from the wholesalers, looked very odd as a juvie, unusually blue.

pops pops thats killer growth, midevils rarely hit 4inch in year 1 from egg!

Ussuely I would agree but she was almost compleatly(sp) skinned on the other side, not descales, skinned, just exposed muscle.
