That has been the experience others I talked to had. When I got mine. There were 3 of them and I got the mostly black with some yellow one because I like the shape and looks of it. The other were 98% yellow. After the people took them home, they started to turn black and in less than a week, it’s 90% black. I was told the mood, environment, food and stress all can cause them to turn black. They will keep changing through out their life.Thanks

I'm stoked on my new plecos! They all came in yellow but slowly changed to black except for the 2 largest they seem to be changing more slowly!
