Not to be a nay-sayer but akskirmish's fish is a leucistic color morph of Pterygoplichthys pardalis

Call me ignorant here-But I wasn't ready for that lingo-

So are you saying my fish is this then-Pterygoplichthys pardalis-And also I'm not famalair with what one means by saying he is an"leucistic color morph".I would love to know if you care to take the time to explain this to me.I would greatly appreciate it someone-

If you look here , you will find definitions and examples of many color morphs. Pterygoplichthys pardalis is one of the most common plecs found sold as 'commons' yours is a leucistic meaning, "lacking or mostly lacking chromatophores. Not a true albino (ie: colored eyes)."

Hope that helps.

P. pardalis is widely available due to it being farm bred in both asia, and the US. They have also maintained breeding this morph, which would be amelanistic, which is commonly sold as "chocolate pleco"

I believe I understand now guys-
Thanks for the info-It was greatly appreciated-

If I understood that right-You guys just said he is a color morph of nothing more than a common pleco-That they have been sucessful in maintianing breeding standards

Yes. Personally i prefer the normal P. pardalis, as I like the pattern that isn't with the amelanistic version.
