ok i want tiled tank now

Got a question for the tiled tank owners. Is any kind of tile okay for a tank? Just the regular old tile from home depot or something will work right?

Before I tiled mine I wondered these questions

What type of tile is used?
How do you attach it to the bottom?
Will it affect you water?

And I got this back from some people who know and have done it.

any tile will work (I used ceramic) and natural stone is well just that natural.
Do not attach at all just sit them on bottom
No it will not effect you water.

After putting mine in this is what I know....

It looks very nice. and you don't have to worry about fihs moving it about like you would gravel or sand.

It looks like the tank is more complete then bare bottom but still has the easy of cleaning.

You will need to pickup at least 5 or more extra pieces of tile so when you cut them if they break you have extra.

You will NEED a wet saw to cut them with accuracy. they run from 70-100+. But you might find a place locally to rent or if you have a contractor buddy they should ahve one.

They look awesome.

Any body know if I buy 12'' square tiles, it would fit a standard 180 gallon tank (6x2x2) without any cuttings?

No they will need to be cut.

Measure the inside of the tank and Ithink it's 23"x71" not 24"x72"
