I feed my poly senegal bichir and my livingstonni krill and silversides. I was wondering if shrimp/ chopped tilapia would be good additions to their diets ?
Are any known to be better than the others would switching between these four foods be a good idea???:)

Thanks everyone ,

I'm curious how this is going to turn out. I bought 2 5" senegals about a week ago. I have fed them tilapia once because we were having it for dinner. They went nuts for it. I currently have them on hikari carnivore pellets right now, but as they get bigger i want to introduce silversides.

Adding those proteins to their diet would be great. It's always good to give them some variety.

My baby senegals have always been fed mini hikari sinking carnivore then slowly chopped krill and silversides until I phase out the pellets usually.

Thats what I was thinking thanks a bunch for the reassurance :headbang2 not many people were posting.... maybe I should try to move this to the bichir section.

Anyone else have any input ??

Reading now thank you!

Your Livingstonii is a African Rift Lake Cichlid and those are normally prone to bloat when fed high protein diets but a Livingstonii is a predator so its probably ok. Unless this is already common knowledge I would verify if a high protein diet will not cause bloat in a Livingstonii.

Otherwise meaty frozen foods like shrimps, tilapia, and silversides are great supplements for your poly. Even better if soaked in vitamins like Seachems Nourish lol.

I use krill and shrimp as food for my fish but I have not tried the tilapia.
