Just saw a thread about someone's 125 randomly cracking and I had to post this question. Does anybody know any signs that mean that an aquarium is in danger of cracking? I buy all my tanks used and my floors aren't perfectly even so this is something I worry a good deal about.

Dont exceed 125 on a uneven floor ive cracked and had tanks leak

Sent from my SCH-M828C using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Seems like it would have more to do with making sure the stand is level then the weight or uneven floor. If you buy cheap and used off of CL, you get what you pay for. Buy new or build it yourself. Well built tanks should not leak or crack.

+1 you get what you pay for

I suppose an uneven floor will eventually cause cracking< uneven as in wavy,i wont matter a great deal if the floor is slightly out of level, if the floor is wavy and is like that all over and there is no where else to put the fish tank i would place a strip of 12mm plywood cut to size on the floor with some sort of matt ontop not too thick to make it less uneven other than that a tank stand with 4 legs would help ans the top would stay flat,

wouldnt want to risk that with some of the larger tanks though eg a 300g or something

I worry too, I thought my stand was level, til I looked from the floor up and realized sections of the tank aren't even touching the stand including a whole corner, and it's a 120 gallions.
I took some contact cement and tried to fill in the gaps, but who knows. Had it for over a year, and I still worry.
