I’d say move that outflow of your canster to the surface and that will make your aro be more active, this may help district your aro and make him less skidish. They can be a pain sometimes and really are wimps.

i used to have the canister pointed outwards into the tank, but the aro would just get in the corner and face the outflow n sit there. do you think they get less skittish over time or will he always be that wimpy?

wouldnt the hard shell on a cricket be harmful to the aro?do you ahve an aro and if so what do you feed it?
or what do you feed your other fishes

Had a couple of Arowana at different time periods the last Arowana I had jumped out and died I grew him/her from 4 inches to 14 inches. Fed it Hikari food sticks, Tilapia, Freeze dried Meal worms and Crickets. The Cricket won't harm the Aro they have a bony tongue.

He will eventually get used to whatever is putting him off. I’ve had aros spook when I walked past the tank or even entered the room.

i think he has like trauma or smt from when the oscars ganged up on him or smt as stupid as it sounds LOL. but i do think thats why he is so skittish. hopefully he gets used to me and knows to come up to the glass for food like other owners experience i think its so neat how they come up to you knowign u have food.
