I have been noticing some silver arowanas having a red coloration at the tips of the fins. I have always thought it looked so beautiful however, i mainly only noticed this red color on arowanas that range from 8-14 inches, and have never seen it on the monster aro's (24"+). does this condition only occur on middle aged aro's? I can see this coloration starting on my 4 incher, but i would like to know if there are any ways to make this color flourish and be, well, permanent.

You'll get that red fins if you continue to feed your silver aro with food that contain plenty of carotene. Prawn and shrimp would be some example of those type of foods. They are lucking in carotene if the find are not pinkish red.
Thanks guys. I was just always skeptical on feeding my aro prawns or shrimp because of the sharp edges of the shell/head. I heard that if you feed crickets carrots before feeding them to your aro, it will bring out this coloration also... is this true?

It will but not 100% full potential. Cricket doesn't have enough nutrition that will provide a large arowana. If you plan to feed it with shrimp or prawn, just remove the pointy and sharp thingy of the shrimp or prawn and feed it to your aro. Or if you wanna go on the safer side, deshell the shrimp or prawn.
Mines haves oranges fins and I feed mine BW, BS, krill, shrimp ect although I have had aros with red. I like the orange more personally;
