Smallest Pleco

This is the smallest 'pleco', species that I know of excluding Otocinclus sp.

A bushynose still might not work depending on tank size. Whaty is the tank size? Once we know that we can help you more.
BTW, I don't know for sure what the smallest species is but it is likely an otocinclus species.

He deciding between like a eclipse 12 gallon or one of those other small starter kits it going to be his first so he just do community until he can much up to the big boys

I don't think you'd need a pleco right away, but clowns or rubberlips come to mind also.

Yea these things stay wicked small When I worked in LFS i had to catch 10 of these things and they are fast and small. Ancistris *dunno bout the spelling* they only get upto 6inchs but otos stay small.

No, the species I mentioned only grows up to 3" max.
