thirsday night I was watching the news, and their was a story about snake heads in arkansas. if you know more of this story please send me links to
the info . what i do know is that some one decided to use posion that will also kill all other fish that come in contact with it (where's peta now) this is driving me nuts. with all the fishing tournaments paying $25,000 first prize.
for fish that cause no harm of any kind.
I just dont know what to think of this but as fish lovers i erge all of us to combat this before its to late.

its funny this went unnoticed concidering this is directly our falt yes exotic fish keepers
we are all to blame.

so you don't love fish just the ones in your tank?

thats sad concidering were proabily the only ones smart enough to fix it.

I have a friend working for Arkansas F&G. He emailed me as soon as they found the fish and I posted up the first new release a few days later, all of this before it was made public. No one really cared. Im sure you can find my thread in this section if you search.

Also you are WRONG. It is not due to exotic fish keepers. The area were this fish was found use to be a fish farm and guess what kind of fish was being farmed...Channa argus!

Before you get on a soapbox and start pointing the 'Blame' finger around, you might want to consider that these fish were also imported as live food and it's just as likely a chance that unsold stock was released from food markets as it is from aquaria release.

Odball, read above. The area was a fish farm and channa argus was grown there.

My buddy told that once the ban took effect they (the fish farm) were not instructed how to correctly kill all the fish and just poisoned the pond.

Also my buddy believes the fish is now widespread because of recent flooding of the white river.

dont be suprised if theres an FLW tour for snakeheads
