Thanks for sharing. Now I know how you get such crisp shots with massive dof at close range on 2" fish [notes taken!].
I don't think that Nikkor has a lens that fast in the 50mm macro flavor tho :-(

Just liked to chime in here. Nikon has something in that range, but nothing electronic.

The 55mm f2,8 AiS Micro Nikkor.

Personally I picked up the predecessor 55mm f3,5 Ai Micro Nikkor for an irresistable $50.
It's one of my favoured lenses for quite a lot of stuff.

Is already very sharp wide open but only gets better up untill f11, and then lets down a bit.

I think you should still be able to order the f2,8 AiS new. Otherwise, I think my copy is from the 80's and it still works great (even after I accidentally dropped the D200 and the lens, landing on the barrel :'()

Now back to the topic at hand, nice pictures on those gobies. :)
They really are surprisingly colourful little creepers. Tend to chase fishtails however.

So, here is my Handsome male Peacock goby:

BTW, I don't know why...but most of my photos in this topic had disappear!?
I had try to input some again, but it doesn't work!?

Yeah, obviously, it wasn't a hard guessing... :)
