_ So everyone this is exact word for word to me the "customer". If you have read this i'm sure you wont be ordering from somethingsphisy. But to me thats not enough - tell your friends and make sure they dont order here as well. Keith needs to be put out of business for good. For our sake and for all the fish he has trapped diseased and dyeing.
I agree with Bderick67, but then I wouldn't have gotten this great chuckle before driving home from work.
I only bought from them once. I bought a brilliant blue diamond discus as an extreme newbie in my first year of fish keeping.
Finksburg, MD has signs in ever public building warning of the incredibly high level of Nitrates (0.15) in the waters potential impact on children.
I live a little outside that town, and my Nitrates range from 0.07 to 0.10 coming from my well depending on the moisture condition in the area.
With that said, as a newbie clueless to Discus and with high NO2 well water, the 3" BBD discus lived for well over a year and grew to close to 5" before I lost it.
I also had trash fish called Kirin Parrots (not from Somethingphisshy) that were internal parasite infestations that have presented me with my single insurmountable challenge clearing them.
Why do people seem to want Hybrids like Flowerhorns, Discus & other hybridized cichlids.
They are by design require one of the highest experience level fishkeeper and prone to deformation/ disease by nature.
It isn't rocket science. You are playing with fire keeping these frankenfish. (Yes my Avatar is a frankenfish that I bought within the first couple months of fishkeeping and still have today). With that said, I will NEVER attempt to keep these expert level creatures regardless of how much experience that I gain.
Keep hybrids to your hearts content. Do not go into it thinking that they are the healthy and hardiest fish in the hobby. Best case scenario, you will have your work cut out for you.
