spotted pythons not eating

hey guys/girls,

so, at the expo (november 18), me and my brother got a pair of spotted pythons. they were eating f/t fine until a week ago. we tried to feed them, but they wouldn't eat. whatever. then, today, i tried to feed them, and again, they won't eat. what could be causing this? parasite? disease? is the tank to large (standard 35 gallon)?

are you keepin them warm enough,winter temps could be droping in the room and they may feed less in the winter months.Lots of snakes do that but i havnt kept those.Balls do it all the time.Are spoteds from the same area?

well spotteds are from Aus...

Anyhoo... are you keeping them together or seperate?
Has anything changed in the past two weeks (such as temp. or way you feed them etc.)?
How is your tank set up?
Sometimes you might do something to put them off feeding without knowing it, did you leave the food in with them (don't do if they are housed together)
 
My Spotted Python will sometimes refuse to feed off a tong, so I just slide it underneath her hide and usually she will take.
 
thanks guys. the font won't go to the standard (it always starts out black, so i switch it to white, because it looks closest to the dark's standard). they are being kept together (against MFK's advice:redface:), but i have added 3 more hides, plus they have a plant bunch. they haven't showed aggression to one another, and they are fed seperately (and different food, so i would know which one did it if one of them threw up). is the other snake causing the troubles? the man that i got them from said that they would be fine together, so thats why i haven't separated them. the guy's website is
www.exclusivedragons.com. they mainly sell bearded dragons, but they keep spotted pythons for fun, and when they breed, the sell 'em.

Well theres a chance they are stressing each other out, and so putting themselves off food, with snakes there isn't really agression that you can see, just stress or one snake get's eaten. It probably isn't the case here, but then that's the thing with keeping the together... you don't know how it's influencing them.
Just keep trying a few more times (they can go for a while without food, and sometimes go on strike anyway). All you can do is make sure they have the perfect conditions they need. If you start to get a bit worried, there are a load of tricks you can do to try and get them feeding again, I posted a load in Miguel's ball python thread of recent.
 
Thing is there is no real reason for a Spotted Python to go off feed, even during breeding season...
 
I agree they are generally voracious feeders, but I have heard of Antaresia pythons not feeding...
They can also be troublesome feeders when they are young.
To be honest if I were in your situation, I'd think hard about seperating them, at least to see if it has any effect.
