Stacked 125 stand build

Naw, I’m no pro. Just enjoy my hobby. Got stain on this eve. Tomorrow hopefully poly. Eager to get it moved into place and out of my garage. If you haven’t noticed from the pictures, my garage is a disaster. That started with my 1100 gallon build, and I haven’t had a chance to clean up sense. For me, the key to getting my garage cleaned up is having some space to actually move things around and sort through stuff.

Thats a disaster? Thats pretty clean compared to my basement. Seems like there is always a project so it's always messy. I just built new steps in to the basement and need to put up a couple walls and decide how to reorganize the stuff under the stairs so its still a mess and the stair project was in April. Then I built a stand for the 90g and now I'm carving foam for a 3d background. I still need to build a canopy.

That looks amazing, if you were to build then sell them like the way you made that one I bet you could make a pretty penny.

If/when I get to 125 gallon tanks and you're selling these stands then I'll make sure to give you a call. Maybe you'll give me a discount for giving you the idea to sell them ;).

The problem with selling them is the same reason I build them. Most of us can’t afford the nicer things in our hobby so we diy it. I wouldn’t be anywhere close to where I am in the hobby if it weren’t for joey Mullen, the king of diy, on YouTube. I swear I have watched every video he has. Tried many of the things myself and found great inspiration in what he does. He is the reason I have a fish room, a giant plywood aquarium, and so forth. I never would have had the confidence to do it all otherwise.

On another note, anyone who has doubts about doing builds themselves should keep their chin up. My first stand build almost cost me a tank lol. My second one didn’t have enough clearance for the lights, and my third one was perfect but I didn’t leak test the tank first and so I built it for a tank with bad seals.

Fair enough. I would have just built them slowly in your spare time and then charge a bit of a mark up then what it costed you. Not gonna get rich off it but you would make a bit of money and be able to spread the love to other fish keepers. Ooh I just thought of something, instead of selling the stands you could sell the instructions on how to build one!!! Maybe make an instruction video as well and sell that too :D

Oh by the way, I still have that third stand. It was built to fit a 150 tall, and it is absolutely beautiful. Built it out of red cedar to match a bedroom set I built for kyself

Ooh that sounds absolutely lovely.

so I got the new stand into place roughly, still have lighting filtration and deco to set up but I have to take a break and build my SO an outdoor sectional. I may try to slip in a few updates in the next couple weeks though.
