Oh oops, I thought you were talking about a different kind. How much for those if you happen to get any in sometime?

the sterlets run around $35. Prices on them change each shipment, but $35 is the average. I only special order them. They come in and go right out, due to the fact none of our tanks are cool water which they need. I believe we can get the diamonds one right now.

Oh ok, Well I was reading in the post something about brackish. Would I have to have them in that setup? or will he/she be ok in my pond outside? I think Ive told you this before but I will be in the Orlando area in about a month. If I decide to get one, could I ask you before I go down there? Maybe arrange to pick him up?

Ours were in straight Fresh and were fine. We could tell when the Temp was geting to them, so we would add cool water or ice cubes and they perked right up. From what I have seen is most people keep them in outside ponds. with koi, so I assume they are in Freshwater. Not 100% sure though. Give me a call when you are headed down here and I can see if they are available and you are more than welcome to pick some up.

Thinking about getting one in the not too distant future. What size pond is recommended?

Hey, I'm new to the forum so hello to all.

I have an outdoor pond in central new jersey. Approximately 2500 gallons. Plenty of airation through pumps and waterfalls. The filtration is also very good and the water is clear. I have very successfully kept koi, goldfish, comets, channel catfish and shubunkin. (Still have them all, pond is seperated into two sections to keep the slower smaller fish from becomming dinner for the catfish.)

I have always wanted a sterlet or two. Will they survive in my pond? The surface freezes over winter (except for where we have heaters in place for gas exchange.) The water temperature over the hottest weeks of summer can reach around 80 degrees. Is this going to be a problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
