Thanks a lot for your opinion :) i'll work on increasing the height of the pond. may i know what kind of filtration you use for your rays? :)

Here’s a photo of my set up I have about about 60 litres of k1, 30bakki rods some marine pure spheres and roughly 15-20litres of other ceramics as well as purigen and a diy protein skimmer. All being said it’s all just surface area the moving bed filters do process ammonia and nitrate very efficiently. I run filter socks on my sump don’t over look the importance of mechanical filtration when designing your set up. There’s guys on here with far better knowledge then myself I’m sure they’ll chime in.

Hi, I've never kept stingrays before and i'm planning to get a motoro stingray for my 2000L indoor pond. It's a 9ft * 9ft, 1ft deep bare bottom enclosure that i believe matches the needs of the rays. I've previously kept small Koi in this pond and i used a 150L sump for filtration. I'm still doing research on rays and i learned that they can produce up to 5 times the waste a typical fish of similar body mass would produce.
I need advice from you guys to set up my filter to handle that kind of a bio waste. What should i look out for ? can you please give me a few tips to improve my filtration. If you could leave few pics of your stingray filtration, it would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance :)

That shallow depth will definitely be an issue in my opinion.

Bio is fairly easy to accomplish with something like an adequately sized shower or moving bed. Mechanical filtration and frequent maintenance is very important. Removing detritus from the water column quickly will help maintain stable water parameters long term. Without bottom drains on the pond a gravity setup is not really an option, so you will need to go with pressurized mechanical prior to bio (some type of bead/glass filter variant)
