stingrays eyes cloudy

my hystrix's one of his eyes are cloudy and looks like there is fungus or small hairy stuff on it anyone know a treatment i will snap a pic when my camera battery is done charging
anyone evr seen this??

and now my leos eyes both look like they are getting it
i take super care of my rays and change the water 60% 3 times a week use a uv sterilizer carbon have *****en filtration so i am kinda stumped
 
Usually when I see cloudy eyes on fish its usually the water quality. I usually do a water change and it clears right up, but since your dealing with a stingray I would definitly test the water 1st. Some stingrays seem sensitive to water changes. So play it safe and check the water. If water is fine you probably can get meds, or maybe melafix which isn't so strong on fish. Or it could be another fish in the tank that bruised its eye. Play it safe and check water or if you want talk to your local pet dealer.
 
pet dealer wont know what to do... and will prolly tell u something that will kill it, brent, post us some pix and im sure nic and miles will be able to chime in
 
i have been testing my water like crazy no amonia no nitirites very little nitrates
i have always been scared or against meds but i am to the point with this that i need to use them don't know what else to do his eye has been like this for weeks
they were breathing a little heavy but that has stoped:nilly:
 
The leos have it too? you prolly already did but raise the temp and add salt... im looking for a thread i saw something on this before but having trouble finding it
 
Just add salt 2 lbs per 100 gallons, Do 50% of salt and then 24hrs later the other 50%. Thats all I ever do for cloudy eye. Good luck know your not keen on using salt but myself and many other breeders use it all the time.

agree.... try the salt if doesnt work than 2 half doses of maracyn
 
Hope them rays are ok i'd take mikes advice with rays he's the man
