Sudden blindness in Fire eels

Wondering if I can put it in melafix mixture which will be in a bucket. Don't want to add the medicine in aquarium ?
I personally wouldn´t recommend Melafix/Pimafix- it doesn´t do much at all in my experience, although it may slightly benefit the fish´s recovery. I don´t see anything wrong with quarantining in a bucket, as long as proper aeration/filtration is given and the bucket´s big enough. I often use larger storage containers as temporary hospital tanks- easy to clean, store, modify, etc. and I think a bucket would be the same.

Sounds like a bacterial infection which can happen even in the best water parameters. Kanaplex is my go to medication since it works just as well through the skin without being consumed. I've used it at full dosage on a lungfish for maximum treatment time and it helped to get it eating again

A few questions.
You mention all readings are 0.
What are the nitrates reading because 0 is in my opinion not possible unless you do 90% water changes with heated pure RO water which in turn would be detrimental to fish health.
Also, what is the ph reading?
What is the substrate?
Any recent changes to substrate?
Any recent changes to water change regime?
Any recent changes to tank mates?
What are tank mates?

Could be infection. Although I’m not sure it’ll recover. Can try a round of maracyn2. Check ur ph as well just in case.

I can get the exact parameters don't have it right now
No substrate. Bare bottom
No recent change in tank mates. Static for last 2.5 years
Two Pikes and One other fire eel that's it

Their eyes protrude and get easily scratched when they squeeze through gaps, try to burrow or hide. Even glass sides can burn eyes. Perhaps you need more caves if you don't have substrate?

Are the ends/edges of pipes sanded smooth? Are the eels big enough to move pipes around? They will never feel as comfortable in pipes as buried in deep substrate. And a frightened eel gets glass burn (or bucket burn) easily. No sharp edges necessary.

If the eye damage keeps recurring, re-think your tank set up.
