Acaras are not better about that. They’re pretty feisty and brutal. A lot of the issues will come as they age. Juveniles of most cichlids are fairly social but when they hit breeding age you’ll start to see an increase in intolerance. That’s why tank size and appropriate stocking levels are important. The bigger the tank and more personal space they have, the better.
