For both an azul and RTC shovelnose mix? Probably 1000+ gallons seeing as the catfish will get 3 feet and weight close to 80 pounds and the azul will hit 12-28 inchesWhat tank size would be good for both
Temensis are the largest species of peacock bass, the largest one ever caught was 43 inches, but most stay in the 24-30 inch range, and with that being said, a 125 is far too small for one. You'll need closer to 1000 gallons for a temensis, This is a 880 gallon temensis tank, the temensis have since been rehomed as the tank was deemed too small for them . If you want a peacock bass for your 125, then go for a kelberi, they stay around 10-14 inches, though they have hit 18 inches. Also understand this is a long-term commitment, these fish live for 20+ years.
Everything has pretty much been answered. The minimum size tank I’d go with the smallest species of bass.. kelberi xingu is a 180, although even that in my eyes now looks small for bass long term. I’d find a tank that’s 3-4ft wide although kelberi could be in a 180 for about 3 years in which time it should reach 14-16” and color up nicely giving you some time to find a bigger tank in the 240-300 range
Bahia don’t count lolMy old Bahia Kelberi hit 18-20” in about 2-2.5 years old. When I gave this fish away we measured it was a solid 20”

Bahia don’t count lol
So far so good 2/3 pellet trained last one on krill. They’re kinda mean to each other, got them in a 180 with a bunch of discus and altums only chase each other lolHahahaha figured I would throw it out there due to the fact there are so many farmie kels. Wc kels are rare right now, how are your Derek’s fish R Parana kels turning out?
