Yes, and Corvus does bring up an interesting point re: fahaka differences. Ultimately, the best deciding factor is caudal length as a proportion of SL, as Corvus mentions. Coloration alone is a poor arbiter.

Perhaps I fantastically overpaid for a lineatus in the long run ... I don't know if I wish to measure now :D
 
If he keeps some of those brilliant red spots, he's definately worth more than a run of the mill fahaka. Heck, my fahaka doesn't even have maroon stripes & I love him just the same. Paid $20 for him at a very skinny 1" (just a head & tail--riddled w/IPs).
