Hi every one. Im hoping for a fertile male to cross back to sister to get the thai silk solid color back . A true blue Texas.

And this one is the wild card and the only one with kok and flowerhorn body. Posible female because of the black dorsal ?

If you cross back sister and brother they will be the same. You need to breed out into another line. Also with Texas and carpintis, the black spot on the dorsal fin goes both ways. Male and females can have it. Best is to vent them at proper size.

Why did you cross a Thai and Tex only to try to get back to Thai Silk? Shape, vigor?

If you want to get back to Thai silk, you can backcross the offspring back to the Thai silk parent. For instance, if the Thai silk was a male, you backcross his daughter.

If that doesn’t work, you may have to do the opposite and get a male offspring and outcross to a female Thai Silk.

At least that’s my understanding. Hybridfish7 Hybridfish7 or HybridFinatic HybridFinatic would likely know better
