Rob doesn’t own this site, and didn’t design the TOS for this site. He also didn’t step down due to lack of love. The person that actually owns this site was pretty clear regarding discussing politics.
I didn’t mean anything personal about Rob or any of the mods. It’s not really about MFK. It’s the worldwide censorship. It’s the international crime. It’s the propaganda. It’s the global war. It’s all the fvxckng war!

I’ve seen it all grow for almost 7 decades, and none of it sits well with me. Compared to all that, nothing that happens here really means crap.

Hey, go ahead and have censorship if you think it’s for the good of the people here.

But I am an engineer at heart, and we do not operate well under systems that ignore or suppress data.

I like fish and I came here to find out more about fish. But the truth is I’m finding out even more about people, including myself.

I just wasn’t born to STFU.

YMMV

We got through the whole american election without anyone mentioning it so probably best not to start politics now.

For some reason there is now a push to celebrate thanksgiving here in oz too, i have no idea why as its not relevant to us at all. It makes as much sense as celebrating chilean independence day or something.

I wouldnt mind another public holiday during the year though, and turkey and pumpkin pie are pretty tasty.

There is one thing US Thanksgiving celebrates, which I didn’t mention, but was really critical.

The colonists and natives decided to have a big party together, and not to kill each other.

They managed to socialize and not go to war right off.

Ulu Ulu I get it, and it's not that we disagree on much of what is being said. But we are also both old enough to understand that when you
venture on to another mans property, you check your manners at the door. Some folks will let you wear your boots in to the party, others won't.
The choice here is easy, and to play nice all it takes is a little self control regarding a few subjects. Politics is & always has been a sore spot on this forum.

As far as Thanksgiving, I've always found it odd that our so called celebration, doesn't line up with the same event in the US. Especially as a kid, growing up on the international border that divides the two. (Detroit River)

So the story goes, Canadian Thanksgiving focuses on the harvest season, while the American Thanksgiving focuses on the arrival of pilgrims.

Legally, this place is like a private party. You do have to sign an agreement to be here.

Now it’s not much of a contract, since nothing of value has been exchanged.

Functionally it is a pub. A public house. Anyone can be here without discrimination.

People can discuss anything (even the King of England) in a pub, as long as they aren’t abusive and personally insulting, or literally punching at each other.

Yes, those people should be tossed out with ceremony.

Now free speech favors the righteous, while suppression and silence favors unspeakable evil. (Nobody could talk about Diddy, until someone did, then the weak and oppressed started to take courage and tell the truth.)

Choosing to be silent about evil and war is not morally acceptable, regardless of how convenient it may be for those in charge of the pub.

Hello; I get the comment and agree. I still recall the efforts to silence me during Covid.

I was disappointed that the TV coverage focused too little on the floats and balloons.

I guess they retired Underdog.
