Right I have just got hold of some red fishing braid from the good old USA I’m going to use it for Carp fishing the theory being In as little as three feet of water, the colour red starts to fade out. What this means is that the fish can’t see the line. I know of two carp anglers Lee Jackson (ex British record holder) and Mat Hayes (TV fishing Celebe) have started using it on there spools so I did some research. And found this out. Apparently they are using it for bass fishing who else has heard of this? and has any one used It?

Well I have just ordered up 2 x 300 yard spools but would really like to hear some feedback before I empty every water I fish this year.:naughty:

Good Stuff:headbang2
The first Red line I remember was Cajun Red. Now there are all different types. Like you said, the color red is not well seen futher down in the water column and especially in murkier water. Since you are using braid now you're thinning the diameter of your line choice and also making it near invisible to the fish since it's red. Good luck with it. Power Pro is good stuff, but there are better brands of braid out there. PP was very good when it first came off. We sell countless amounts of PP in our shop and I have definitely seen the quality of their products go down within the last few years. Try using Suffix braid. You won't be dissapointed.
I've used the red line for years now in the Saltwater here on Long Island and it definitely does make a difference.

this is what i dont get, red line is supposed to dissappear but yet the trend now is to make "bleeding baits" with lots of red. so im confused.

I think on the bleeding baits, the red is just seen as a dark area on the bait. might look like an injury to a fish.

I found this on the web

it an interesting reed especially if your a lure fisherman. If this all rings true I’m going to give it a go.

As for the red baits we did it and are doing it with carp fishing red bait was a choice colour when doing your bait mixes. So is it a sharper way to fish or just another gimmick?

As for it was a good line and worked well it’s in its infantsy hear so perhaps the old approach that is new here could strike it lucky. As I say I will give it a go could mean a good night’s sleep next to a lake or a bad night’s sleep with lots of fish:naughty: .

I dont see the big hype with it is. It just line but a diffrent color. I use Yozuri-hybrid in grey. The red hook thing is ok I use them sometimes I dont see me getting more fish with the red hooks. Some times they do better and sometimes they do the same as regular hooks.

If science says red fades out, give it a shot.

IMO cajun line would be my choice for red line ,sufix is nothing to turn your noise up at there braid is awsome your rod will snap before the line will .hell larry dahlberg(host of HUNTFOR BIG FISH) swear's by it. I still use LOW-VIS GREEN but have swaped my treble hook's on my topwater and my crank bait's for red one's and have gottin more hit's top water with 'em .;)
