I think adds more big sturdy wood to make a dome or something could make the fish comes out more

I truly went all natural with this tank, it may be a bit jarring to some.
Yes the water is especially turbid, loaded with mulm and botanicals, and lots of microfauna such as copepods and limpets among others.
This has allowed me to provide an extremely enriching environment for all inhabitants, although it does not fit the beauty standards of many.

funny enough this has become my ‘cleanest’ tank, I’m starting to believe turbid, sediment loaded, microfauna infested water may be the ideal way to keep fish. Water changes take place once monthly and nitrate has stayed a steady 5-10ppm, it has truly impressed me

This tank is done no justice on camera, it picks it up poorly. The dim lighting and glint of the dither barbs scales as they pass by is truly a beautiful sight. The variety of catfish can be observed at night with a flashlight and the horde of loaches comes out of the darkness when food arrives. It’s especially entertaining seeing the occasional cryptic fish grubbing around in the sediment

I’m sure everyone is curious about the star of the tank, the chitala. He is only really seen during feeding time and prefers to dwell in his dark cave. I have been able to get some beautiful shots of him shining in the light however. It’s truly a sight, wish I had a better camera. I will upload to YouTube and post here.
