just found this thread and thought i would have a brows as i have just bought the worlds smallest dats lol,, picked a couple of 2 inchers up from lfs today ,,, they are very shy at the moment , i hope they get more sociable soon ,,
must say some very impressive dats in this thread ,, what would be the growth rate of one of these ?

What kind did you get? It depends on tank size, the bigger the faster they grow. Given a large tank they could get to about 6-8 inches in another year. In two years 10 to 12 inches. Given a large tank. After that, growth will slow and depending upon which type how big.

well..no matter what..i guess the best is still rear a fish from young till monster size..then will really have the sense of accomplishment....

i mean..you can spend all the money u wan to get a big one like in the pics..but I guess you only get to rear it till it goes into old age...not appreciating the growing phase..

Totally agree. I once got a chance to have nearly reach 48 cm indo datz. Wild caught, but I miss the passion of growing phase. Sold him to a friend months ago

Could be but most of the pictures were added last year so it's not really brought back from the dead.More like kept on life support.
